Remix update - zerO One now on
Facebook.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Spring 2009 edition of the zerO One newsletter. This is a brief update focusing on the Remix Project.
I've now completed a number of rough mixes and videos, and am awaiting the final submissions from the guest remix artists. In order to better connect with all of you I've now created a page at Facebook. All my preliminary remixes and videos will appear there 1st, even before they reach my web site. If you're already a Facebook member you can easily become a "fan" (their word, not mine) and leave comments. If you're not a Facebook member and/or don't want to become a "fan," you can still listen to the mixes and watch the videos, but you won't be able to leave comments.
So please swing by the zerO One pages at Facebook and consider becoming a "fan."

The zerO One Remix Project Continues
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Fall 2008 edition of the zerO One newsletter. I hope you all enjoyed your summer.
In the last issue I told you about the zerO One remix project, invited all of you to download the individual tracks for "memory" and to have your own remixes of the song featured at my site.
Many of you downloaded the parts, but to date only one person has submitted his remix. I'm once again inviting all of you to download the parts and to submit your remixes at my remix page. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2008. After that the parts and submission form will be removed from my site.

I can now confirm that Bluetech, Magic Sound Fabric and Phutureprimitive are working on their own remixes. Clips will be posted at my site as soon as they become available.

The zerO One Remix Project is Underway
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Summer 2008 edition of the zerO One newsletter. It's been a long, cold winter and I hope all of you are enjoying your summer.
It's hard to believe, but October 2008 marks the 10-year anniversary of the debut zerO One release on Waveform.
To commemorate this event, I've embarked upon a retrospective remix project spanning the past 10 years of zerO One music. The project is especially exciting due to the fact that a number of artists, some very well known, some not-yet-known, will be contributing their considerable talents to this project by creating their own remixes of select zerO One tracks. Visit my remix page for details.

The Remix Project Blog
In order to keep all of you up to date on the latest remix progress, I've built the zerO One remix blog. Details about the artists involved, along with regular status reports and information about old burning equipment, will be posted here. Feel free to post your own comments and ask questions. I'll be making posts on a regular basis. View the blog.
Notes: you can view the posts without registering, but in order to make comments you'll need to register. This is currently a "moderated" blog, meaning that I need to approve all comments before they're posted. I'm working to make the blog "unmoderated." Thanks for your patience while I get this perfected.

Build Your Own zerO One Mix
Did you ever want to do your own mix of a zerO One track? Well, now's your chance. As part of the Remix Project, I've uploaded the individual parts to one of my all-time favorites, "memOry." You can download any/all of the parts, use the parts you like, add your own parts, make your own mix. I will feature all the mixes you create on the remix page at my site. Your mix will be heard by thousands of listeners.
Visit my remix page for all the details.

zerO One Video Takes 1st Place Award at Art of Digital Show
Hello everyone, and welcome to the fall edition of the zerO One newsletter. There's some cool stuff happening that I want to share with you.
First of all, I'm pleased to announce that my "affirmative" video, from the ozOne album, has taken 1st place in the international Art of Digital Show in San Diego. This year's show received nearly 3000 entries from 40 countries, and I'm honored to have received this prestigious award.
I flew to San Diego for opening night of the show, which attracted 1500 attendees. Rain from PhuturePrimitive performed a live set, and Waveform guru Forest was in attendance as well. The artwork on display was truly astounding, and the people were just great. A full-length low-resolution video is up for viewing at the zerO One site, and I hope to make it available on DVD soon.
If you like digital art, the exhibit runs at the Lyceum Gallery in San Diego from now through November 11. For more information visit the Art of Digital web site.

Momix Dance Company chooses zerO One track "Waken" for feature show "Lunar Sea"
Lunar Sea is a 90 minute, intermissionless work, performed in 2 parts. In the first half, titled "Sea of Tranquility," phosphorescent sea creatures seem to emerge from the darkness and bodies seem to float in mid-air with the help of a black lighting technique that only allows the eye to see certain parts of the dancer's bodies. The stage is transformed into a moonscape and the audience is hypnotized as exotic life forms seem to spring to life unbidden. "Bay of Seething," the second half of Lunar Sea, is a more upbeat section, with music from the likes of Hans Zimmer (and zerO One) and angel-like puppets created by Michael Curry that float hauntingly through the air. For more information please visit the Momix site.
